STRONG REPRESENTATION
My passion is the individual and their family. 20 years ago, I re-defined my law career to focus on the family. My passionate side is to work with my clients to move them to a better place. Often times, it means a divorce; other times, it mean counseling them on how to live and thrive in the marriage. It also means representing my clients in other areas, such as: estate planning, guardianship and conservatorship, real estate closings and issues, landlord representation, land contracts, employment questions, etc. I represent the family.
My professional side is to handle the legal issue or dilemma my client is facing with diligence and vigor. If it’s a divorce, I implement the BEST divorce settlement possible. I thrive on achieving a settlement better than my clients can ever imagine. Spousal support, alimony, pension division, retirement account divisions, property separation, real estate sales: all taken very seriously and fought for vigorously. I know the law—both divorce and custody, and the tax law—strategies to implement the most advantageous tax settlement possible. I don’t play games, and always present the most realistic settlements achievable. I never sell my client’s “short.” I always protect their interests. I understand that at the end of the day, my client and their ex-spouse need to jointly parent their children, and 30 years from now, they will still be parenting their children. I don’t play games. I represent men and women, and protect the children—never allowing them to be used as pawns. If the issue is simple, I handle it in the most straight-forward way possible. I am not an alarmist, and I don’t take the “long-way” around a legal problem.
I assist my clients to “manage the business of their life.” This business includes their divorce, child support and custody matters, finances, and implementation of divorce Judgments.
To be a full-service attorney, I have extensive experience in estate planning, taxes (I own a tax service: Tax Advantage 1040.Com) and real estate sales, land contracts, and lease agreements. I represent many litigants in contract law and contract and lease enforcement.
From 2005 to 2010 I represented the Department of Human Services on their neglect petitions. This continual representation allowed me to hone my trial skills, as I tried up to 20 cases per year.
